How it works
Click Start
From the menu bar, choose to capture what you hear, your mic, or both, and which devices to use.
Have your call
A red dot and live timer show it is recording. Talk normally.
Stop and read
Stopping finalizes the audio and drops an on-device transcript beside it.
Why it asks for screen recording access
On macOS, the only way to capture the audio you hear is through ScreenCaptureKit, which sits behind the Screen and System Audio Recording permission. Audio Recorder Bar uses it solely for audio. It records no video and captures no screenshots: the capture surface is set to 2x2 pixels and nothing about your screen is ever stored or sent anywhere. The only files written are your audio recording and its optional on-device transcript, in the folder you choose.
